Thailand's Department of Foreign Trade, responding to a complaint from Posco-Thainox, has launched an anti-dumping investigation into cold-rolled stainless steel from Vietnam. The investigation covers July 2023 to June 2024, with interested parties encouraged to participate and submit feedback. Vietnam’s TRAV urges the Vietnam Steel Association and related companies to register and cooperate to avoid higher tariffs. The products under investigation fall under HS codes 7219 and 7220.
The agency also recommends that businesses ensure they follow the specified instructions, procedures, and deadlines and maintain contact and coordination with TRAV for timely support.
According to a report from the Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade on September 25, the Thai Department of Foreign Trade received a request from Posco-Thainox Public Company Limited to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on cold-rolled stainless steel products originating from Vietnam.
Therefore, the Vietnam Trade Remedies Authority suggests that the Vietnam Steel Association and relevant companies review the export situation to Thailand since 2020.
The products in question fall under HS codes 7219 and 7220.
